"What good is it to gain success in this world, if it is at the cost of your soul?"
Kyvenz Amédée was born in Montreal to parents who immigrated from Haiti to Quebec in the 1970s. It was there that he grew up and had experiences that helped shape the man he has become.
Over the years, he has forged valuable relationships with men and women whom he views as inspiring models of faith and spiritual maturity. This is what allowed him to understand that true development [of people] does not come about simply by acquiring more knowledge and experience, but rather it is the result of a successful spiritual journey through adequate accompaniment grounded in truth, love and trust. This is what motivates him to invest in the spiritual development of people through pastoral ministry.
Kyvenz is the Lead Pastor of Gospelvie, a vibrant church located in the heart of the Center-Sud district of Montreal. He is also a certified coach and member of the leadership team of the Quebec District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC). He also sits on the board of Inspiration Publishings, whose bibles and Christian books are distributed in several French-speaking countries. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in theology at Laval University.
Kyvenz is married to Madglara, his wife of 21 years; they have three children.
As a Pastor, I help people from all walks of life to succeed on their spiritual journey.
For Christians, it is the spirit that carries our first and true identity, even before we develop physically, psychologically and culturally. The spiritual health of individuals is therefore just as important as their physical or mental health. The role of pastors is to serve God and their community by providing spiritual care, education in the faith, and counseling, with the aim of promoting and fostering the spiritual well-being of those in his/her charge. Here is what is expected of pastors:
"2 Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; 3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock." (1 Peter 5:2-3 NIV)
